ZOUK
Zouk is an old town in Jounieh, which resembles to the
Antibes in Southern France, In the17th Century, the Old Zouk
souk was one of the region's most important market places
for silk products and hand woven, embroidered and crochet
items. With cobble-stone streets, traditional Lebanese-style
houses, and artisans workshops, it offers an insight into
the history and heritage of the area. The area has a number
of restaurants and cafes which come alive to the background
sound of the derbeke' (folkloric drum), and with a fantastic
view over the Bay of Jounieh.
